Most people believe the company they presently have is the company they ideally want. Experiencing any success can be a smoke screen to what is really waiting for you.
Too many people tend to accept what they are given rather than chase after what they want. They accept permission, generosity and handouts with a smile and nod of appreciation.
But there is a difference of what you now have been conditioned to believe is success and what you want to define as success for you.
It starts with acknowledging there’s a difference. This is where you have to not only dream but dream big. Don’t accept limitations or ‘good enough’ when it comes to where you want your business to head. In some cases, before you can see the difference you have to go way back to when your business was only a concept or idea - a time when everything was a possibility. Take yourself out of the day-to-day distractions and grind to realize the gap between when you started to where you currently are.
Be honest with how your business looks today. Don’t get caught up in “pie in the sky” ideals just yet. Focus on what is and isn’t working, what is making you happy or miserable and what you’ve accepted or regretted. This picture will assist you in discovering what is missing.
Learn to juggle what is going on in your business presently and what groundwork you have to lay to make it become your ideal company. Incorporate your ideal company core values, standards and procedures into your current business. Then honor them. This is the beginning of making your current business look like your ideal company. Don’t abandon your vision for how it can be.
Eliminate the barriers that prevent growth of your ideal company. This can include paralyzing fears, cash flow problems, or untrained staff.
Bridging the gap between your present business and your ideal company starts with make a plan. The plan must be consistent with your vision of the ideal company. Then implement as much of the plan in your current business as possible. For you to successfully reach your goals everything in your business must be moving toward them. Make all your decisions with this ultimate goal in mind.
