Today, I want you to stop and think: what’s in my way? What’s keeping you from where you want to go?

We’re experts at making excuses but novices at making inroads. Why? Because excuses are easy and inroads take work. Anything worth having takes work, from your figure to a successful business. Let it go and watch it fly.

But why don’t we start grabbing life by the horns and start creating things that matter? Let’s get down to the nitty gritty of what makes each of us successful and never let it go! I’ve put together two things you can do today to get down to the nitty gritty in your life and your business. This big blue sphere keeps spinning round and wouldn’t it be great if we made the most of it while we’re along for the ride?

Family and Career – Where is your balance? If you’re sacrificing the precious gift of family for the sake of your career, I’ll beg you to rethink. Treat today like there’s no tomorrow. Embrace your family and remember that 99.9% of “emergencies” at the office can wait. And imagine the alternative if you’re having trouble deciding – do you want to regret having sacrificed your family for your career if the unexpected enters your life? Regret is a tough pill to swallow.

Profit and Passion – When you look at what makes money versus what you love, one will always be there and the other is crying for your attention. The best businesses combine the two. Does yours? And if not, how can you fix that? Because life’s too short to do anything but live your passion and make a living doing it.

Your action task is to do something different today. Anything. Pick something you’ve wanted to change and grab onto it and make that change!  The nitty gritty is about what matters. Stop paying attention to all of the things that could make you regret not paying attention to the things that do!
