The secret to influence is soul.
We often forget that there’s a divine intelligence, an all-knowing, creative intelligence, that I call the Grand Overall Designer (GOD) that is showing us the way.
That still small whisper is like a radio station we can tune into 24 hours a day.
What we don’t listen to, we can’t express.
God pours soul messages direct to our hearts. These messages are felt as emotions, dreams, visualizations, hunches and feelings.
Because each and every one is designed for good, this love is not only unconditional, it’s infinite. It cannot be thwarted, changed, altered, negated or stopped by human rationalizations, or old fashion ego (insane) thinking.
God’s love is the peace that surpasses all human imagination. We don’t make up these messages, we access them. (Sort of like downloading files from the Internet.)
Check it out. This truth is at the core of every religion.
Where we trip ourselves up is in 1) whether or not we allow ourselves to listen to these messages in the first place and 2) how we interpret, then 3) the ways we decide to act upon them.
Being awake means we’re actively engaging in a process of listening to our soul. (You can read about my process for accessing Soul Influence in my upcoming book chapter, “Using Soul Influence As Your First Stepping Stone To Success.”)
If we’re sleepwalking, then these messages get buried in our subconscious. Those, too, must be expressed, only we get to do it the hard way—accidently and without purpose.
The reason we’re sleepwalking and struggling through life is because nobody teaches us how to listen to our Soul Influence.
It’s a power practice and let’s face it, most people prefer that you walk around and act with minimal power. Because they get their power from your lack of power. They drain your energy and deny you choice.
Soul is non-Earthly. It’s not manmade and no scientist can re-create it.
Its purpose is for you to USE it.
And that’s how you design a meaningful, purposeful, self-directed life.
As I stated in an earlier post, Dale Carnegie, used Soul Influence…but the public wasn’t quite ready for him to write about it in 1912.
His audience was primarily men. Society back then didn’t offer women much choice.

What a great article! I think our soul is also our intuition as well as the other things you listed. And all of us at some time tend to live on auto pilot or, as you said, sleepwalk, our way through life. We get all caught up in our past (which is over and we cannot change), or worry about our future (which isn’t even here yet). We miss so much when we do any of that because all we have is right here, right now, this very moment.
I realized that I had to get out of my head and start listening to my heart and my intuition. And the only way I’ve been able to do that is by being as present as I can in each and every moment. It’s a challenge and I catch myself sleepwalking at times, but I keep working at it.
