Help is on the way!!

Today was the day I was expecting my new cabinets for my new office.  I was so excited – cleaning, moving EVERYTHING out, unhooking my computer and stuff.  Guess what!  The installers showed up – with the WRONG finish on the wood!  (You see, these were all customed made and designed).  I was so disappointed, after waiting for months for this big day.  What did I do?  I took a mental note that this wasn’t the worst thing in the world – obviously I knew there were more serious problems in the world.  So, with a calm voice and undestanding composure, I talked to the installers who talked to the company who realized it was their mistake who said they will make it right!  In two weeks I will, again, get excited for another BIG day for my office!

Why do I tell you this story?  Because one of the installers said something important to me.  He said, “Most customers would have yelled, blamed and gotten really angry.”  He then thanked me for not doing that.  It reminded me of how in buisness things work out much better if we treat others the way we want to be treated.  Also, both of us, me and the company (and installers!) exhibited high emotional intelligence.  Yeah, it works everywhere.  Emotional intelligence is something I will be talking, teaching and giving tips on how to make it work for you – that’s just a peek at what you will be getting from “The Executive Coach.”  So tune in soon to see what is in store for you!  Hint:  it’s www.theexecutivecoach.com
