Three more spot-on sales skills for women

On Tuesday, I gave you three sales skills for women to get your week off to the right start. Since we’re all selling something, we can never spend too much time on improving our sales skills. But something pretty neat happens when you focus on improving your sales skills: we improve our people skills in the process!

Today’s post is an expansion on Tuesday’s list of sales skills for women. And I’ll give you your action task in advance: take another look at Tuesday’s list and see how they apply to your personal relationships. Then maybe you’ll see today’s list of skills in an entirely new light.

Give More Than You Take
Believe me, I know it can be hard in business to keep putting yourself out there when you feel like you’re getting nothing in return. An essential sales skill for women, and well, anyone, is to keep putting it out there, though! I’m a big believer in giving, but remember – that doesn’t mean you work for free. A kind gesture and a helping hand go a long way to fortify both personal and business relationships.

Ask For Help
Did you know that a key sales skill is simply asking your customer or client how you can be of assistance to them? By simply asking the question, you’re opening up the door for getting the answer you never would have if you hadn’t asked. It’s an essential sales skill for women, as quite often, we tend to assume what people need. The gesture of asking is one of the most generous we can make.

Say Thank You
Being in business is great – we get to be masters of our own destiny and we pretty much have our clients and customers to thank for that. So take a moment each day and say thank you to the people who make your business possible. Clients, customers, vendors, employees and contractors – it takes a second and the effect lasts…well, it lasts!
