sales skills for women part 1

Three top sales skills for women inside!

What makes sales skills for women different than those for men? Well, that’s simple: our thought process! We’re built to listen, understand and empathize. We see the emotional side of any business situation. When I work with clients, there’s a session that always comes down to one simple fact: we’re all selling something. Whether it’s a product or ourselves, people have to buy US before they buy anything from US.

This week, I wanted to kick start your thought process and give you three essential sales skills for women. Since we’re all selling, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t all be as good at it as we can possibly be!

Listening is the Best Part of a Conversation
Every sales dialogue begins with listening to your customer. As women, we’re great listeners! Of all the sales skills for women, I’d like to say this one is the most important. If we listened twice as much as we spoke, we’d find our client and customer relationship flourishing miles above the competition!

Do What We Do Best: Nurture
What’s a unique sales skill that we have that most of our male counterparts don’t? Our inherent desire to nurture. Long-term client relationships thrive when we tap into our nurturing side and take care of our clients even when there’s not a sale to be made. Check in before, check in after, check in just because. It really IS that easy!

The Practical Side of Things
As women, we’re pretty crafty people. If something needs to be fixed or someone needs help seeing the practical side of a situation, we’re the ones to do it. We can strip it down, lay it out on the table and help people see things for what they really are – we’re great it that! When your client or customer has a pain point or challenge, tap into this incredible female power and show them how your solution makes their life easier.

Now, today’s action task is to think of your current clients and customers and find at least two cases where the three tips above could apply. Better client relationships are only a few steps away, and Thursday we’ll speak towards another three sales skills for women that will help your business soar.
